Hotels
Chicago Athletic Club - room was tiny but cute, the hotel is awesome and huge; it has a game room with a bar and it open to the public, the rooftop bar and view is beautiful; it overlooks the Bean. A great lunch spot.
JW - very nice
With a friend & Airbnb in Logan Square (Nate used to live here) - a cute walkable neighborhood for the kids
Restaurants
Lula’s - Logan Square breakfast. Walk-up only. This is has been a staple every time we’re in the city.
Girl & the Goat
Alla Vita - Italian. Amazing! (same restaurant group as Girl & the Goat)
Jensei Motto - sushi
Little Goat Diner
Parson’s Chicken & Fish
Bars
Moneygun - randomly ran into this bar and it had the coolest vibe while playing 90’s hip hop
Three Dot Dash - underground tiki bar by the river
The Northman Beer & Cider Bar - the entire riverwalk is great but we like to sit at this place
The Empty Bottle
Delilah’s
The Violet Hour
Activities
Love a good Architecture boat cruise and bike tour when the weather is perfect
Pitchfork Music Festival
Riot Fest (Nate goes to this one)
International Museum of Surgical Science - right on the river
Field Museum - If you have kids read the book, When Sue Met Sue, and then go meet the real T-Rex, Sue! THere’s also a documentary about the drama surrounding Sue and the aftermath about finding the largest T-Rex.
Musical Theater Works - a cute theater outside the city in Skokie. Nate’s bother designs set for tv shows and the theater so we took the girls up for The Little Mermaid to see this one.
CHICAGO
Chicago is a city we visit often with or without kids so this is a random collection of different trips.
